Freelance work

Hi, I'm a FCP editor with some experience. I was wondering what methods people in the los angeles area use to find freelance work. I've searched Craigs List and a few other sites, and there does not appear to be much out there (and a lot of what I find seems sketchy). Any help would be appreciated!

My mantra is:

"Do good work for good people and good things tend to happen."

In terms of finding new people, I just look for people who are doing things I like and then harass them until they hire me.
