Apple Systems Engineer- Responsible for providing pre-sales technical expertise to drive sales for Apple?s Commercial Sales Team as well as supporting Value Added Resellers and customers in primarily the LA area.

Candidate must have extensive experience with Apple related software and hardware solutions as well as third party solutions. In particular, this individual should possess in-depth knowledge of storage area networks as it pertains to complex video post production and broadcast workflows. A very good knowledge of video editing, motion graphics and audio editing software is also required. As well a comprehensive understanding of signal routing and knowledge of most common audio and video hardware equipment found in post production and broadcast facilities is important.

The successful candidate will be responsible for independently developing and delivering persuasive technical sales presentations and product demonstrations that clearly communicate Apple's product, technology direction and competitive advantages. In some cases, post sales issue triage and escalation is required.

The position will also require creating detailed proposals based on best practices for deploying Apple and third party solutions which persuade customers that our products demonstrate technological leadership, competitive advantage and are the best technological fit for their organizations. The successful candidate will also provide guidance on integration and implementation requirements for Apple solutions.

Requires flexible hours, travel and the ability to work independently in both a proactive sales and technical role. The candidate also will be required to carry a cell phone, occasionally move and lift equipment and have an at-home office with remote high-speed Internet access.

Customer Interaction -
Teamed with high-paced Sales Reps, the successful candidate will work with both the commercial sales team as well as Value Added Resellers and customers in pursuit of sales opportunities. The candidate will work with internal resources and external partners as necessary to analyze VAR and customer opportunities in order to propose appropriate technology solutions. This individual must exhibit superior presentation skills and be comfortable presenting before large audiences. Written communication skills, teamwork, and excellent problem-solving ability are required. This position requires a deep understanding of the different server and storage solutions on the market, with a background in designing and implementing infrastructures for complex video environments.

While fundamentally providing technical expertise, this role requires business acumen and customer facing skills in the interest of driving revenue.

Apple Interaction -
Works with manager, Sales Reps and VAR reps to prioritize and accomplish tasks required to achieve organizational goals. Accomplishes tasks independently and with general guidance and direction from manager. Works with other engineers on individual tactical projects. Consults with product specification engineers and/or corporate product marketing to resolve technical issues and problems. Responsible for developing individual professional development plans in conjunction with manager and works to complete those plans. Responsible for supplying technical information on sales opportunities into Apple?s sales automation system where time is of the essence to close the sale.

Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work independently and part of a team across various IT environments and production environments. Must also possess the ability, desire, and motivation to learn independently. Requires technical expertise in Apple, third party & customized solutions.


Relevant sales and technical responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with Account Executives and fellow System Engineers to support Commercial customers and VAR Channel sales partners in sales efforts.
- Technical pre sales consulting to ensure proper design and deployment to meet end user needs.
- Maintaining up to date technical training, information and resources for channel partners? technical staff.
- Setting up and operating systems at events such as presentations, trade shows and other industry events.
- All applicants must be willing to travel and be available beyond normal business hours when necessary.

- Ability to work remotely (home field office).
- Mac OS X, UNIX, Linux and Windows proficiency
- Directory integration experience with LDAP and Active Directory
- ACSA and Xsan Certifications a plus
- Experience in Advertising and creative markets a plus

Degree Preferred.
Apple Certification Preferred
Travel required.
