MC 5.5 Can't make a mark in or out from bin.

I have enabled edit from bin, in settings, but whenever I hit the mark in or out key's I get the warning beep.

What am I over looking?

Are you in storyboard mode?

I'm definitely missing something. I can mark an in and out in "script view" but I cant cut it in. I can then change to "Frame view" and cut in the shot, but not mark it in or out.

I can mark a duration in the timeline and then cut it in from "frame view," but it ignores the position of the playhead. I guess I'll try toggling the different ghost/virtual in and out mark settings.

I can't insert/overwrite in the shot in script view, but I can do it in icon/frame view. But I can mark in/out in frame view, but the clip needs to be playing before I can do that.

Yes, that's the consensus. I've been cross posting this over at Media Composer "Fast Start" the "Beginner" board. Its being bumped up, as perhaps a bug.
