Unexpected Quits on launch

I just installed FCP 4, Every time I launch the app, it fails, just quits.
I'm going to try a reinstall, any other info about this?

This happens to me often. Started happening more after I installed DVDSP 2. My only workaround is to trash my preferences. It happens so often I keep a set of fresh preferences on my desktop and aliases to my 2 preferences folders, so I can do it very quickly.

Dual 1GB Tower
1 GB RAM
10.2.6
FCP 4.0.2
DVDSP 2.0
1 external FW drive
No other PCI card or other peripherals
No Norton
Network always on.

an old issue. FCP prefs are the most volatile part of your system. Would love to see the team get them more stable. BTW, the systems where I lock the prefs file (as described in earlier posts) never get corrupt prefs, I'd assume because they are never re-saved no matter how you change them when loaded intot RAM. From the abuse those particular systems get, I'd say that's a pretty good fix, though a little annoying re: scratch disk assignment
