Export 24 fps to 29.97 bug

I have a 23.98 sequence.

Is anyone aware of the bug in FCP 4.0.2 when using "Export Quicktime Movie" on a 23.98 sequence- FCP truncates the exported file i.e. only exports about 80% of the file (as in 24/30ths) of the file.

it happens when I set the "settings" to "DV-DVC-PRO" NTSC.

ie I'm asking it to convert 23.98 to 29.97 and it only exports 24/30ths of the number of frames that it should.

Try dropping the 23.98 sequence into a 29.97 timeline. Don't worry about the render bar - just export QT with current settings and you should wind up with a 29.97 sequence but the playback will be 2:2:2:4 or ABCDD - it won't be the proper 3:2 sequencing.

Thanks for getting back to me...

Actually I can export it to 29.97 w/o making a new sequence by using "EXPORT USING QUICKTIME CONVERSION" right from the 23.98 sequence -- This works around the bug in the other export option, but there is no setting to request pull-down cadence (see separate post in Cafe Phorum)...
