Audio bug

We have audio drop out problems while printing to tape, and also during
play back on the time line, FCP 4.1, Qt 6.4 Aurora 6.1, on OS 10.3.1
Panther, we are experiencing this problem with FCP 4.02, QT 6.4 Aurora
6.08 on Mac os 10.2.8 on our power mac G5 dual 2 gig.
The problem is not consistent, there is a drop out, if we play back the
clip again the playback is fine, we also get occasional distortion on
the Audio Track .
Setup:
1. Power Mac G5 Dual 2 Gig
2. Aurora Igniter X Pro
3. 500 GB SATA RAID
4. FW 800 Boot

We have this topic running in the Cafe. It appears to be widespread. I have been trying to figure out what is common among users having this problem. Two of your pieces of information are new: That it occurs in an Aurora timeline. Up till now it has been only in DV timelines going out FireWire. Also you mentioned that it happened on a G5. I thought it was a G4 thing.

Hmmmm. Are you sure it happens going out the Aurora hardware?

Not sure if this is related but are you using any of the AU audio filters as opposed to the FCP filters?
I have had a number of issues with these filters related to media manager, playback, and Quicktime exporting.
It's hard to pin down since some of the problems don't seem related and are intermittent. But generally the commonality is the filters and often removing them fixes the problem.
However a previous post of mine got no replies so perhaps no one else is running into this.
