FCP 4.5 Log & Capture Bug
I have encountered what seems to be a bug on some G4 systems running FCP HD 4.5 After completing a batch capture, FCP will crash, if you access any other window other than the Log & Capture Window. The work around appears to be save the project and quit FCP before accessing the Browser, Timeline, Canvas or Viewer. At least your work is saved and everything in order when you relaunch. The bug appears on a G4 DP 450; OS 10.3.3; FCP 4.5 -- but not on a G4 DP 1.8G. The bug is not there in FCP 4.1. And it reappears after an uninstall and re-install of FCP 4.5 Has anyone encountered anything similar? Any suggestions? TIA
Doug,
Yes, I experienced the same problem, but your solution to shut down after batch capture and relaunch has certainly helped. I upgraded my G4/OS 9.2/FCP 3.0, which was bullet proof, to OS X Panther/FCP HD and encountered the problem with batch capture and moving a clip from the browser to the viewer or timeline. At least this solution will keep my FCP on course until the bug is fixed. Thanks, Cory
I have the same problem + FCP crashes when I try to "Edit to tape".
I´ve tryed to solve the problem by: -Reinstall the system -Reinstall FCP 4.5 - Increase RAM to 1,12 Gb - Buy a new LaCie FireWire 250 Gb disk for the media. - Buy a new FireWire short cable to my SONY DSR-25 tapedeck For the moment I think FCP 4.5 SUCKS...
