tittle 3D not smooth

the boris tittle 3D is very slow in FCP5. It worked great in FCP4.5

it doesn't update the changes to fonts (it takes 3 seconds)
it jsut feels like is going to crash everytime you use it because the beach ball comes on all the time. everytime you move one of the paramenters. it's very very slow

I am using it on a new machine.

G5 Dual 2.5
4 gb memory
FCP5.0.2
OSX4.2

when you change a tittle's font it takes for ever to change. and some of the fonts don't work. I have a tittle that has letters and a phone number and I am trying to make it Arial Hebrew, but only the numbers change to that font. it takes 2 to 3 seconds to update
