I had the situation happen today where when using "Capture Now" with our brand new $3500 SONY HD cam, we got video in window, but "Searching For Media" error msg.

Saw similar error posted on othr FCP forums.

There should never be error messages on something so basic as trying to capture video from a SONY cam.

It's not like we got the cam at WalMart!
