Aspect ratio problems

Hi folks,

an aspect ratio issue has stumped me ...

I'm using FCStudio Universal edition on a 17in MCPro, 10.4.

Shot and edited my final sequence using Sony Z1P in 16:9 Anamorphic.

Exported it twice (as separate projects) via compressor using 4:3 best quality and 16:9 best quality, and then imported them into DVDSPro 4 and encoded them as a 4:3 and a 16:9 aspect ratio.

Here then is my issue...

When played on a widescreen TV, neither disc will display full widescreen. Both display properly in 4:3 aspect, but the 16:9 aspect has letterbox lines, and the image appears to be a stretched 4:3.
I thought the final image would fill a widescreen fully, with no letterboxing and no distortion. What am I missing here ? Thanks in advance....

Jay, when you brought the anamorphic footage into DVDSP, did you set the timeline as anamorphic first? If you set it after importing the footage, you can get this result.

yes, on both imports, listed as anamorphic....
