DVD to burn and playback at 23.98

I am wondering if dvdsp will import footage that it 23.98fps, and then burn that frame rate to disc. Not converting it back to 29.97df.
And if it will do this will I be able to play it back on a CRT type consumer TV.

I am trying to work out some issues with eliminating roll in a TV set when being shot with a Viper recording at 23.98.

And I'm just experiminting.

Thanks,
Bret

Unless the DVD player can do a 3:2 pulldown on playback - NTSC is 29.97 fps for playout on a standard NTSC television set.

Some DVD players can ignore the pulldown flags on 23.98fps encoded video and output a progressive signal to a progressive TV. However, a normal CRT TV is not progressive, so you're back to your original issue.

Graeme's answer is: shoot and LCD TV.
