I am stuck trying to import files to DVD Studio Pro
January 19, 2009 11:05PM
I ripped my DVD reel using Handbrake and tried unsuccessfully to find the type of file DVD SP would accept.
Then, using MPEG Streamclip, I tried to find some m2v type of export, but nothing.
Same using QT Pro. No export settings that make sense to me.

I know I am doing something wrong.
Could someone put me back in the right tracks?

Thx

I may be wrong, but does Handbrake only export to mpeg4?

You should aim for MPEG2 elementary streams, that is audio and video separate, not muxed together as a program stream would be.

DVDSP will easily accept MPEG2 and .mov files, so you should be able to go from QT at least.

No, but not mpg2

This was the reason why I posted ("then, using MPEG Streamclip, I tried to find some m2v type of export, but nothing. ) I know I need mpg2, but I am struggling in finding a way to rip my dvd and not to have to go through Compressor.

It's under "Demux". The process is lossless. I think you'll have to specify the type of audio that was used in the original DVD, but you can easily check that in the inspector (apple j or apple i, can't remember which and I don't have a DVD right now).

There's also this other software you could try out...
