DVD Studio Pro 4

My DVD Studio Pro 4 will not open. I get this message.

"this application cannot continue because another application with an identical serial number is already running or another application on your network".

I don't understand what this means I have tried to close DVD Studio Pro 4 when this message appears but none of the buttons appear to work. I do not have any other DVD Studio Pro 4 work files on this computer. I am the only account user. I would appreciate anyones suggestions.

I remember when I had PC, while burning a CD or DVD you were not supposed to use the computer, no even for checking email....
