I'm working on a video of an object travelling around a map, and I'd
like to have a dotted line follow it around, showing its path as it moves.
I know Motion has Motion Paths and the ability to Align an object
to a motion path. This made it easy to make my object move along
a spline path and maintain it's orientation properly.
However, the dotted line part is causing me some trouble. I tried using
a particle emitter, and I noticed that you can use geometry in the emitter
and specify a spline. I specified the spline path for my object, but that
just causes particles to be emitted from every point on the spline path.
I'm thinking I may need to have the dotted line path already plotted
out in a graphic, and then keyframe a mask as the object moves around
on the path, reveal more of the dotted line path.
It seems like there might be an easier way to accomplish this in Motion
w/o keyframes, but I'm a bit stuck at the moment.. any other suggestions
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Kevin
