Poor performance - useless right now.

I am cutting a project using DVCPRO HD 720p60 media. When I import a clip (Quicktime exported from Final Cut Pro HD) into Motion, the playback is choppy and the picture never seems to keep up with the audio. Has anyone had these problems and found a solution? I did use the correct DVCPRO HD preset also.

I am running both monitors off a single video card.

I tried running Motion with just my 17" LCD studio display, ditching the 23" for testing purposes, and performance was terrible - The same results as above. This is not what I saw at NAB. This is really annoying because I bought this software and it seems (at least right now) utterly useless. Even my quicktime exports result with video not keeping up with the audio.

Any suggestions...?

My config:

G5 Dual 2GHz/ 4 GB RAM/ 2 250 GB SATAs/ATI Radeon 9600 XT/ Apple 23" Cinema Didplay/ Apple 17" Studio Display/Apple 3.5 TB Xserve Raid

The NAB demos didn't use your video card, but a much more powerful one.

Many of us are using a single monitor with a Radeon 9800 SE with 256 Mb of VRAM, and have very few issues other than a version one stability.

We don't use dual monitors because it divides the RAM that Motion can access.

Plus you're using DVDPROHD, which wasn't what the demos used at NAB.

You may call it useless, but your config is different than what NAB provided.

best of luck
