motion quits!

Running G5 DP 2'5.
Trying to export a motion project (10 seconds) from a template (modified). The program quits when finishing the export operation, after 6-8 minuts rendering.
But it works (very fast) if I erase the layer of the particles! Do you know the reason of the quits?

Matt, I'm running MOS X 10.3.6, G5 DP 2,5 / RAM: 2,5 /AGP 9600/
The think is that it seems not to hold the entire sequence to export, and hung. If I eliminate some heavy layer (say particles, emitter) there is no problem.
Should I get the Radeon 9800 (450 $)?

did you update motion to 1.0.1? I know some had issues when exporting in 1.0 that were addressed in the 1.0.1 update.

I forgot one question: Is it possible that the file exported from Motion to QT (35 seconds 720x480) is as big as 970 Mb??
is it normal?

That sounds right. When we export uncompressed quicktimes they are any where from 150 MB from FCP to 1GB from our Infernos for a 30 sec clip.
