Was trying to import a photoshop file which had 40 layers (pictures). Never got the option to import as layers. Could import other photoshop files as layers. Is there something I'm missing here?

You don't get that option until you drag the file from the file browser to the canvas and keep the mouse button held down.

I tried that, kept the button down for a long time. Didn't work. Is there a limit to the # of layers that motion will import from PS?

I have a client that works with 600-layer photoshop files in Motion. Are you sure you are importing a .psd file with multiple layers?

Yes, I'm sure it's a PSD with multiple layers. My work-around was to turn off all layers except one and create 40 separate files.

FOUND IT!!!! The bit depth was set to 16 per channel. Changed to 8 per channel and it works fine.
