Alpha Layer export

I'm having a problem exporting with an alpha layer from FCP 4.5HD.

Someone in an earlier posting told me to export with millions+ colors. I tried it, but still couldn't get the alpha layer going. (I keyed out a green screen from a talking head). When I do this, I get a black background.

I also tried to do an "export to Motion". But when I opened Motion, the green screen hadn't been keyed out. All my cuts were there, but none of the filter settings.

Why doesn't it keep the same filter settings as in FCP? That doesn't make any sense to me.

How can I get my talking head into Motion with just the alpha layer?

When you send to Motion from FCP, filters don't go along for the ride - only the source footage, with any Motion tab settings.
