How do you soft the border of your crops ?

There no " soft borders " associated with the crop in motion, (like in Fcp)

I found a way when I wan't to soft the border of... say: a picture in picture - I copy the croped image upon itself , blur the bottom one and add a mask in order to make it visible on the borders, then the mask borders can be softened either towards the outside OR the inside, (there is no centered)

I guess there must be a more simple way to soften the edges of a crop

Use a mask instead of cropping and feather the mask. Rectangle mask tool, top of the Canvas.
