motion template crashes system?

Hello,

I seem to be the only person with template questions.

I've just got a complaint in from my PM editor that he has been crashing like crazy when he renders the Motion templates I've designed. I've been using elements designed in Smoke for lower thirds and locator bugs and also for transitions (which works great, by the way, Mark Spenser). I haven't had any trouble rendering them. But, my PM editor has.

Are there any quick tips that may make these templates easier for FCP to digest? I'm going to go through and click "fixed resolution" on all of them, since sometimes that magically makes things easier. But, any other tips will be very welcome.

Is your PM editor on Leopard? There's a know issue with Motion templates in FCP:

Nope. We're on 10.4.10.

Just to conclude this thread, before I start my next one, the answer seems to have been to make the groups in my Motion templates Fixed Resolution. After I did that, my PM editor reported many fewer crashes.
