Travel Matte in Motion

I'm trying to create a simple title that has the words "Fire Fighters" filled with the "camp fire" particle movie from the Motion Library. When I click on the word and bring up the text properties, under "style" I see where I can "fill with" a gradient, color or texture. When I select "texture" I see the little well to put the image I want to fill the face of the the text with. I tried clicking and dragging the "camp fire" particle from the library to the well but nothing happens. How do I go about filling the "well" with an image?

You want to use an Image Mask.

With the fire and the text in your project, select the fire. Choose Object > Add Image Mask. In the HUD (press F7 if you can't see it), drag the text layer into the well.
