Academic version of Motion 3.0.2, FCP Studio 6.0.4

I'm trying to make masks. I'm using Motion 3.0.2, the academic version with FCP Studio 6.0.4.

What differences are there between the Academic and the Professional versions?

Specifically, is there a Mask Tool menu in the Academic version, and if there is, where will I find it?

If you know of other differences (assuming there are some differences), what are they?

Looking further at messages below, I found a solution to my problem.

Trashing my Motion preferences was the answer. Now I have me Mask tools in their proper place.

If there are other feature differences between the Academic and Professional versions of FCP Studio, or Motion, I would still like to know about them.

There are no feature differences whatsoever - the academic version just can't be upgraded.
