Photoshop Image Import into Motion

I'm trying to import a silhouetted photoshop image into Motion. When the image imports, it has a white background, which I do not want. How do I get rid of the white background, and retain the silo?

Does your Photoshop file have transparency? If so, is it set to RGB?
