Paste attributes?

Hi there,

I need to replace same images in a motion project.
Is there a way to just replace the image but keep the keyframes and all other attributes?

In FCP you can paste attributes. I never did something similar in Motion.

I'm using Motion 3.

Thanks

Several ways :

1 - yes you can replace a media by an other.
With Pop up menu in media "contextual" tab (when the media itself is designed in the media tab or drag and dropping "new media" on the "old" one in project tab. A curved arrow shoes up and drop !

Same thing in the timeline. Either on media name or taking advantage of the "edit" options. Drag a media on a layer, or above, in the TL (I mean on the "traks" ) stick a while without droping and see what happen.

2 - add new media to project. Pick the prior layer, go to keyframe editor, lasso and copy keyframes from a layer to the other .

3 - if it's behaviors ... drag and drop them with opt from a layer to an other

4- or drag and drop the behaviors to favorites and re-use them;

5 - you can also save keyframes set in favorites. (from left column in Keyframe Editor)

6 - you can grab the parameter itself (like "position" in the inspector from a layer to an other

Thank you so much for the detailed info.
I ended up just dropping the new media onto the old. Couldn't believe it was that simple.
