While fooling around with preferences in motion the screen changed to a black screen and I cannot get back to the program.
The program comes up then switches to the black screen.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You might have Alpha inverted switched on. In the top right you should see a bunch of drop downs where you can set the view size, One where you can set what channel to look at (this is the one you want) and options for render and view. If you have Alpha inverted select Color. I do this all the time and panic for 5 mins before i realize that i haven't deleted everything.
