Can't seem to add ambient noise (command grayed out)

I tried setting an ambient noise print from one file and adding it to another. The "Apply Ambient Noise" option is grayed out.

I'm following the instructions from the Soundtrack Pro 2 manual and it says (on page 166) that you can copy noise from a part of a file and "add it to another part of the file (or another file)."

What am I doing wrong? How do I add the ambient noise?

Solved!!

I changed the capture setting in the preferences of STP to the hard drive this project's other media files were on and it started to work.
