The same Developer has a Video Cleaning tool as well called JVC which does require much set-up but so it should. Pashdejby pashdej - Café LA Re: 50i-to-50p (or 60i-to-60p) double deinterlacing - 11 years agoWhat about stib's tools? It includes a free De-Interlacer. Pashdejby pashdej - Café LA Re: FCP Classic and new codec update - 11 years agoI suppose best practise is still to not install and wait to hear how others have fared - trouble is it begins to seem unfair - waiting for someone to blunder into a disaster; like the ProApps of a year ago, me thinks. Pashdejby pashdej - Café LA Re: Tip of the week for editors with failing eyesight. - 17 years agoJude, you come up with gems every so often so I'm hoping you'll remember an old one - how to get the list of reel numbers and shot descriptions in the capture window into numerical or alphabetical order (when you right-click or control-click on the little boxes). I know I've seen an explanation (like I've seen an explanation of how to get Safari Bookmarks into order - but have forgotten) it wasby pashdej - Café LA Re: UPDATE: Can anyone make me feel better about Mac? - 17 years agoEvery fortnight I run Techtool Pro from its e-drive, running the intermediate suite of tests and then Disk Warrior 4 to be sure nothing is wrong with my system and particularly the B-tree catalogue - FCP always runs even more smoothly straight after this.by pashdej - Café LA Re: FCP 5.1 Waves Conflict after Install - 17 years agoWe have the same issue but it isn't the TDM or RTAS filters that it is trying to start, it's the Audio Unit files and it seems that FCP can't handle something inside the Waves plugs (I kept getting the message from FCP that the plugs were out of date!). Our solution was to make a folder just outside the Components folder in Library>Audio>Plug-ins, that I called Problem plugs and pull theby pashdej - Café LA Re: Andromeda Uncompressed for DVX100 - 17 years agoIt does look like a lot of extra equipment though, the Andromeda mod needs the other software Sculptor HD, residing on a laptop linked to the camera and an external Firewire drive to complete the capture. The view that it's "studio" shoot only is certainly right.by pashdej - Café LA Re: Andromeda Uncompressed for DVX100 - 17 years agoTim, that's a major put-down of what we thought was a very nice camera - and still think so. I am not the DOP but instead the Director, who was once trained as a cameraman. Our DOP owns and uses a Thompson DVC-Pro and the output of the DVX100 integrates really well, he says so too, I use it to shoot our dance-music pieces and as a second unit camera on the bigger productions where we have the monby pashdej - Café LA Andromeda Uncompressed for DVX100 - 17 years agoI've come across a site that has developed a method of accessing the Uncompressed or Full Resolution image inside a DVX-100A (just happens to be one of the cameras we use) and at $2,000 it seems a very neat way to use an extremely nice camera for even better work. Does anyone know anything about it? Philipby pashdej - Café LA Re: SheerVideo - Progress? - 18 years agoI had some difficulty raising Andreas too but he has resurfaced and sent apologies for not replying - he said that they had rebuilt there site and moved to another server, things would be back to normal now. He was very genuine, so I think you can sigh with relief. It is a great codec and he knows it. Philipby pashdej - Café LA Motion 2.1.2 can't install - 18 years agoI see that Motion 2.1.2 update is available, in my Software Update browser, and it says I should install it but having downloaded it I am now told that Motion cannot be installed on this machine. I have version 2.1. This is a PPC DP2 Ghz G5 with 2.5 Gigs RAM, running 10.4.6 Anyone know what is going on? Post Edited (07-02-06 10:02)by pashdej - Motion Re: Copying keyframes and getting caught up... - 18 years agoI had the "never-ending" playback problem in Motion and found that with only 2.5 Gigs of RAM and a Graphics card with 64 Mbs of VRAM, the system was working so hard that it couldn't take on another command, i.e. Stop! With a new card carrying 256 Mbs VRAM and 4.5 Gigs RAM the problem doesn't exist.by pashdej - Motion Re: Favourites from FCP-HD in Vers 5? - 18 years agoThank you, I'll have a go at this. In the past I've been able to keep them easily but forgot to do what you are suggesting, before I upgraded. Just forgot. Luckily I have a set saved on another machine that still runs 4.5 - I'll Save them into a Project and bring it back in to 5.1.by pashdej - Café LA Re: wacom tablet - 18 years agoI work primarily as an editor with occasional graphics and effects based compositing - I swear by the Wacom, the programmable buttons on the side are a real time saver and the pen tip is so accurate. The mouse is great too but since I switch from AE to Photoshop from within FCS it is an all-in-one time saver, its great. But don't get the bottom end Grapire version - half the functions are missingby pashdej - Café LA Favourites from FCP-HD in Vers 5? - 18 years agoIs it possible to bring or import the Favourites from FCP-HD into FCS 5? I had a large collection of Favourite Audio and Image effects that I had created and saved in my Favourites folders, I'd like to use them again. Is there a way of importing them? I have backups of the Prefs files but don't know which file holds the favourites (POA or 4.5 Prefs) nor how to bring them into vers 5 without confby pashdej - Café LA FCP Studio "side-grade" manuals - 18 years agoRecently I took advantage of a great deal from Apple, to upgrade FCP 4.5 to version 5 (Studio) for under Aus $300 and I didn't think too hard about it because it was such a great price. When the package turned up I realised why it was so cheap - No Manuals! And I read manuals. So, does anyone know how I might get the manuals - Apple will only sell the manuals if you are a holder of more than 5by pashdej - Café LA Re: POLL : Do Lacies Actually Suck Or Not? - 18 years agoI was about to say that Suck has two meanings outside of America 1. Really good - from "suck it and see" - tastes really good and 2. Awful, taken from american slang.by pashdej - Café LA Re: POLL : Do Lacies Actually Suck Or Not? - 18 years agoI have three systems, all have LaCies attached, two have also Ice-Cube and Clearlight. One has Maxtor. The most on one system is 6 on a G5 One is FW800 the other four are FW400 on that system. I have a spare old 80 gig with a fan that I use for backup (can't stand the noise - the others are all fanless) - I think they are great - none have failed. I love it that they turn off with the computer toby pashdej - Café LA |
