What are the most stable versions of 10.6 and 10.7 running FCP studio 2? Any advise is much appreciated in advance. Thanks, James Morrison Morrison DVby jmorrison - Café LA Would YOU wait till June 9th WWDC to upgrade to FCP Studio 2 - 15 years agoI know that apple is always secret about new products and upgrades. We are wanting to upgrade to FCP Studio 2 finally. With Steve Jobs set to talk soon I'm hesitant to upgrade now if he has something up his sleeve. If you were me what would you do? Your opinion.... Never had a problem with capturing, editing or anything. Then just this summer I thought I'd try the try the new Lacie 500 gig quad interface drive and it was extremely disappointing. I've figured out how to get the actual video encoded in I Tunes specs but need to research setting up the RSS feed that I Tunes requires. Anybody who can point me in the right direction of a good source of information is much appreciated.by jmorrison - Café LA 1st time Yak sighting - 17 years agoWell for 5 years I've heard others talk about the late night Yak sighting and I was wondering if my FCP didn't have a Yak. Well this morning the mysterious Yak made its way across the screen. AH what a site. I'm looking at the g raid mini as they are bus powered. But then again my battery life would probably be less than 1 hour. Ah the compromises.by jmorrison - Café LA 17 macbook pro hard drive 7200 RPM or 5400 RPM for DVDPro HD work? - 17 years agoThe new 17 inch macbook pros have an option for either a 100 gig 7200 rpm hardrive or a 160 5400 rpm drive. I'm looking to get one for work on dailies using DVDPro HD footage. I'd probably be working with around 35-50 gigs at one time. Should I get the 7200 rpm drive to handle the demand of the DVCPro HD? Anyone have any experience using this setup with DVCPro HD. I have a business partner of mine that will be editing DVCPro HD footage shot from the HVX200 in 24p native to two 8 gig P2 cards. He is waiting on a new mac pro but in the meantime is in a crunch to start production ASAP. I have a few questions: 1. He has a 1.5 Gig G4 Powerbook; I know we can run FCP 5.1 on it using Tiby jmorrison - Café LA Re: HVX-200 and Final Cut Pro - 17 years agoThanks guys. One more thing. Just a major pain in the rear. Thanxby jmorrison - Café LA OT - Termite Fumigation and tapes - 18 years agoHere in California I'm sure there has been someone who has had to have their place fumigated. From the information that has been given to be its a gas not a mist that fills the house. My question is if anyone has heard of the fumigation hurting tapes such as dvcam stock. Should I have anything to worry about or am I being paranoid. Thanks for you thoughtsby jmorrison - Café LA |
