We always used to route captures for video and audio to separate drives-- before DV. I made that early mistake myself and came up with odd filenames lkike the above. Steve Martin is a force of nature, and almost as funny as Steve Martin. DV Creators carries good stuff too but I have a problem with the custom interfaces and occasional ditzy glitz. Ripple uses classic QuickTime window with dropdown chapters, it's great. - Loren Today's FCP 4 / 5 keytip: Do a virtual Audio Mixdown to lighten playback load with Command-Optiby Loren Miller - Café LA Re: fcp "out of memory" error, ouch. - 17 years agoLaCie's are fine if you keep each on its own port, (as in a FW 800 card) allow 10% free space, and powered through an UPS. I've only had one completely crap out-- after a lightning strike-- I suspect the ethernet cable which was not going through the UPS. - Loren Today's FCP 4 / 5 keytip: Do a virtual Audio Mixdown to lighten playback load with Command-Option-R! In this case the post audio tech used DINR, an Avid plugin. It was like the HVAC guys came in and removed the AC. The remianing voice was bright and specular, even a little too live, bouncing off the walls. Amazing. STPro has something like it in its suite of noise control filters. I haven't yet used it.
