HyColour Proby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Script Supervisor - 10 years agoMy once a month Media Professionals Group I meet with in Tampa, Florida, last week we had a panel of four (4) sound guys tell their stories and tech stuff. One of the things they said was it is hard to get the director to give them 30 seconds to record a "room tone". Some don't think it's a time killer, and some don't understand why.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Where to get best deal on Mac/FCP 10 bundle - 10 years agoThe Apple world has changed. FCPX has to be purchased on the Apple App store by creating an account. It will be the only way to get the newest updates and upgrades. So look for the best deal on the hardware by it's self, then buy FCPX through the Apple App store.by Russ Blaise - Café LA Re: Beta release: Matrox 3.0.1 for FCP X 10.0.3 and Compressor - 10 years agoI really does seem that Matrox has dropped the ball when it comes to any drivers for the Maverick OS. I will say good riddance to Matrox when it is time for me to move to an all Thunderbolt/USB3 Mac. I'm not going to buy that $350.00 Matrox Dock so I can still use the Matrox MX02 Mini, that might not be able to use anyway because they are so slow in releasing a driver for Maverick. You have to install Maverick on a clean hard drive from a newer Mac able to run Maverick. Then you have to replace the “boot.efi” file that is in this path: System/Library/CoreServices/boot.efi. You’ll replace it with the hacked “boot.efby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Anyone like the FCP X update? - 10 years agoRuss Blaise Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Since I can't run Maverick on my Mac Pro 1,1 I'm > not able to run the FCPX 10.1 update I found a hack that will let me run Maverick on my Mac Pro 1,1. So now I can run FCPX 10.1, also the new Compressor looks pretty good with that simple interface.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Anyone like the FCP X update? - 10 years agoSince I can't run Maverick on my Mac Pro 1,1 I'm not able to run the FCPX 10.1 updateby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Powerfull Workflow with FCPX and Netstor Storage possible - 10 years agoHave you tried putting a video card in the Netstor yet? I'll try to fix it.by Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: Taking first steps in FCPX; a q. about where to place Events and Sequences - 10 years agoUse your thunderbolt mirrored raid to put the Events and Project folders on. As far Sequences. They don't use the term Sequence anymore. You create Projects in FCPX. They are stored in your Project folder. It's part of the Events and Project folders. You first create an Event, then bring in your media into that Event. Then create a Project. You choose what Event it should go with. Even though it was stated by them it was. So when I turned on my computer this morning all was ready to download. I guess it's best to wait a day or two after they post that it's available.by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Adobe CC October Updates are Live - 10 years agoAE updated with no problems. CC opens the door to other avenues. Like Digital Publishing. Building apps right out of InDesign. I'm able to publish them at no cost to me. Before it was $400 a pop. There are many other apps and features you can only get if you have CC. I don't feel I should pay full price for any upgrades for a long while... Back to CC. I talked to a guy last week that speaks all over the country about the Adobe Cloud. He seams to think that Adobe is considering that if you've been paying the monthly plan for a few years, that if you end the subscription, you get to keep that version of the CC apps.by Russ Blaise - Adobe Premiere Pro CC Re: Editing my first feature film - 10 years agoRead this thread on the subject: LINKby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: [FCP X 10.0.8] Best plugin (or techs) to fix Out of focus video - 10 years ago"fix Out of focus video" I don't know of a plugin, but I can give you a tip... shoot it over but in focus this timeby Russ Blaise - Café LA - X Re: FCPX 10.0.9 Released - 10 years agoI think I read somewhere that Apple is waiting on the new Mac Pro to be released before they come out with a major update for FCPX.
