Program quits when I try to export - 12 years agoSo, one of my students completed a digital story on final cut express 4. I exported as a quicktime movie for archiving purposes then tried to export using quicktime conversion to a smaller H264 that I would put up on the Internet for her and burn to a CD. About five minutes into the export process the program quit. I've repeated the process many time trying to convert to different formats. As for Jeff, I keep my feelings of guilt, shame, general persecution, etc., far, far away from my computer issues, thank you very much. Pluge indeed!by lianekay - Café LA Re: can't import HD into FCP5 on iMac G5 w/Mac OS 10.5.8 - 13 years agoI'm sorry. "Woosh! Down goes the Final Cut," means it crashes, i.e. shuts down unexpectedly. A box pops up on the screen saying that Final Cut Pro has shut down unexpectedly and asks if I'd like to report it.by lianekay - Café LA can't import HD into FCP5 on iMac G5 w/Mac OS 10.5.8 - 13 years agoSo, my FCP 5 works fine on my old Power Mac G5 w/Mac OS 10.4.6. I haven't upgraded because my video work is pretty basic. But my old G5 has been having kernal panic issues, so I decided to get a computer with a little more umph, thus the iMac G5 (refurbished) with the Mac OS 10.5.8. So, I load up the FCP 5 onto brand new used iMac. When we got to the how to unlink the video and audio channels lesson, rather than clicking on the link icon that sits at the top left side of the timeline, she dragged it off the timeline completely and dumped it into the finder. It went up in a puff of dust and now I can't get it back. I have even tried reinstalling the program. Thanks for the post. -Lianeby lianekay - Café LA Re: Why can't I import my HDV footage from Canon HV20 camera - 15 years agoWell, I've made some progress. As it turns out I was missing a codec or two. My best guess is that I loaded a stripped down version of Final Cut Pro all those years ago, having not anticipated being able to afford HD then, and being in a hurry, I didn't install everything. I can import now, but it's not playing back properly. My computer tells me I may be missing a hardware card, which may beby lianekay - Café LA Re: Why can't I import my HDV footage from Canon HV20 camera - 15 years agoThanks for the suggestion, but it's still not working. Any other thoughts?by lianekay - Café LA Why can't I import my HDV footage from Canon HV20 camera - 15 years agoI've been using Final Cut Pro for years, using standard definition mini-dv footage. I recently purchased a used Canon HV20 with the hope of shooting and editing in high definition. However when I go to the "Easy Set Up" menu or even the "Audio/Video Setting" menu I swear to all things righteous I can't find a setting that will accept my footage. Say for instance I select thby lianekay - Café LA |
