Re: Re-Opening multiple projects - settings - 10 years agoYou also say it's VFX heavy. I have found that rendering *everything* first repairs synch issues in some shows on some slower machines. Dust spots will twinkle and the image vibrates along horizontals. You could use, as mentioned, a Gaussian Blur, and start it at .25 as the moire gets intense, ramp the Blur to 1.5. Just camera folders? They're fine for backups. You could even use them with Time Machine. Restrospect is the granddaddy of backups, aimed at small business and corporate. Pricey but well-regarded. There's a separate forum for FCPX users. I outlined how I got FCP7 working in another thread, and I believe it's important to upgrade in this manner, or FCP7 may NOT work. FCP7 requires older underlying QuickTime components, whereas 10.9 sports new "AV Foundations" which crusty old FCP7 cannot employ. I would also stay away from Western Digital anything-- but that's my particular bias. On whatever storage you use, FireWire or SATA are the streaming protocols to use. If you're using a USB connection, which is packet-driven, you might encounter weirdness. It then went to Episode Pro and then up to YouTube: My BlackMagic Design Intensity Pro PCIe card also worked well playing back timelines to a 40" consumer flat via HDMI, AFTER upgrading the Desktop Video Manager software availableby Loren Miller - Café LA Re: Edits do not take-Bizarre - 10 years agoThis happens from time to time in any NLE, especially when you work faster than your system can queue the events. I SAVE, then quit, reboot fresh into RAM to see if that reveals your edits. If it does, work more deliberately. If not, trash/restore FCP prefs. I wouldn't expect any repair out of copying (but who knows?) but it's backed. For some reason, Mouse Keys was enabled. This Universal Access option takes over the numeric keypad to move the mouse. Turned it off and numeric keypad entry has returned. Yay.
