Re: Well, that didn't take long - - 12 years agoThe Hitler piece is hilarious. ROFL kind of hilarious. You see what an editor can do, when they let loose their creativity? (I wonder what platform it was put together on? Do I see Avid's SubCap feature there? I did think that the Conan piece was notable only in that it put editors on camera. Holy Moley! When has that ever happened? We're famous for a day. Or half a day. Or a few minuby schnittman - Café LA - X Re: Cafe LA-X - This is quite witty a name for a forum. - 12 years agoThe opening episode on the final season of LOST was call "LA X" so there are additional layers of meaning there. I was worried that I'd lost it as well. Normanby schnittman - Café LA - X Re: Fascinating: Is Apple responding through David Pogue? - 12 years agoWow Clay. issues of New York Times aside, this is a great description of what editors are asked to do today in an editing room. Thanks for this. Normanby schnittman - Café LA - X Re: Erratic gamma/color shifts on XDCAM EX - 12 years agoDidn't Apple claim that a Sony plug-in would make XDCam and XDCam EX material playable without transcoding. As far as I'm concerned, at the processor speed that I have on my MacBookPro, I'm transcoding EVERYTHING, no matter what anyone tells me. (Same advice for Avid and DNxHD, by the way)by schnittman - Café LA - X Re: X is here (also new Motion and Compressor) - 12 years agoI've only downloaded Motion so far but as large as that download was, I immediately was notified of an update -- which turned out to be templates and other media. This is genius on Apple's part. Not only does it mean they can easily upgrade FCPx without changing the associated templates and media, but it makes the initial download seem smaller. Don't your realize that PCP Studio is a gateway drug? We're still trying to figure out to what, though. Anyone who relies on dot zero releases for their business is insane. As Larry said "I want your clients." Maybe by next week we can turn this forum into a real discussion. Whoops, and now I've contributed to the madness. My apologies. Normanby schnittman - Café LA - X Re: You knew this was coming - Final Cut X Parody - 13 years agoOh no. Has this devolved into a discussion about music tastes? This reminds me of arguments I had with my parents when I was growing up. Please, folks, there is no popular music out there that doesn't have something good going for it (as well as a group of haters), so back off with the comments. Remember what they say -- "the Golden Age of Music is 14-19 years old." I can't even get to the point to see whether it creates the BPAV structure, over and above the MP4.by schnittman - Café LA Export to SxS File Format - 14 years agoHere's an odd request. I need to create a teaching module to instruct students on how to import media from SxS cards. I've got an FCP project, with a number of large clips and subclips that, once imported, the students will use as an editing exercise. Is there some way to export the clips (sub-clips would be best, but I'll take what I can get) to the XDCam EX file structure, with BPAV folby schnittman - Café LA |
