Re: How do you export a single clip? - 16 years agoYou're right. I thought of that just as I hit "post message"by ERIC B - Café LA Re: How do you export a single clip? - 16 years agoI'm trying that, but it won't let me export as a Sound file, only QT movie or conversion.by ERIC B - Café LA How do you export a single clip? - 16 years agoI'm trying to export clips into Soundtrack Pro from my timeline. When I highlite a clip and hit EXPORT, the entire timeline gets exported.by ERIC B - Café LA Audio levels for film - 16 years agoWhat is the maximum level on my audio meters in FCP5 that is typical for a feature film? -6 dbs sounds about right to my ear.by ERIC B - Café LA Audio Engineer needed - 16 years agoI'm currently in the final stages of post on a very entertaining, story driven, feature length documentary about an eccentric woman who risks everything for a down and out Elvis Impersonator. The production audio needs work. If you're interested, experienced and in Los Angeles please send me an e-mail. SIncerely, Ericby ERIC B - Jobs Re: NOISE REDUCTION FILTER - 16 years agoThat thread was awesome. The Soundtrack Pro took it all out. But how do I get that back into my project? I'm running FCP 5. Okay, let me back up. Just for a test, I opened a small QT movie of just that clip. I didn't understand how to open my project with SP.by ERIC B - Café LA Re: NOISE REDUCTION FILTER - 16 years agoThank you... And what level on your audio meters is the standard level for a movie? -6 seems to sound right to my earby ERIC B - Café LA NOISE REDUCTION FILTER - 16 years agoI've got a subject in an interview who is a soft talker. When I raise the dbs to make him audible, the white noise level (or whatever you really call it) goes up too. Very distracting. Any suggestions as far as filter go? Can a great audio engineer remove stuff like that? If so I need someone in Los Angeles. But in the mean time, what can I try? Thank you, Ericby ERIC B - Café LA I need a trailer for my film - 16 years agoI'm currently in the final stages of post on a very entertaining, story driven, feature length documentary about an eccentric woman who risks everything for a down and out Elvis Impersonator. I'm looking for an extrememly talented editor who is also easy to work with to create something spectacular to showcase this extraordinary film. Please have some trailers available for me to look at. Going from my mini Dv tapes toby ERIC B - Café LA Re: Mini DV deck - 17 years agoJay, I've recaptured the LP footage using my camera. There were no problems. Do you mean I'll have problems if I use a deck other that plays back LP like a DSR-11?by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Mini DV deck - 17 years agoDo a timecode burn - Is that so I can manually go backand insert the original footage if the machine can't figure it out on the recapture? How do I do a timecode burn? Thanksby ERIC B - Café LA Re: Mini DV deck - 17 years agoWhat's done is done - as far as shooting in LP. I used low resolution becuase I had 200 hours of footage and I even captured in 90 minute clips. The good news is, I recaptured a 2 minute segment of the film as a test, and it went very smoothly. So it does work. The next thing I want to test is using a mini-dv deck that plays back in LP so I don't have to recapture 150 reels through my cameby ERIC B - Café LA Re: Mini DV deck - 17 years agoThank you. That looks like what I need. Hopefully I can find a rental house here in Los Angeles that has one.by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Mini DV deck - 17 years agoWell I shot my entire film and captured it in Long Play. No problem. Now, I'm ready to recapture and would rather not use my camera as the deck. Will using deck that plays back in long play get me out of sync?by ERIC B - Café LA Mini DV deck - 17 years agoAre there any decks that play back tapes shot in LP?by ERIC B - Café LA "Delete unused files" - 17 years agoWhat does this mean? I'm getting ready to recapture and I'm not sure what exactly gets deleted. And how much space do I need to free up to make room for the recapture of a 94 minute movie?by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Title safe - 17 years agoActually just spent the last hour going back and removing all my frame adjustments. Too bad, it seemed like a really neat trick!by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Title safe - 17 years agoThe only reason I ask about a 2nd version is that in some cases, I really like pulling the left edge of my frame over to the action safe area, which leaves a black edge on the left side of the frame. Up above Koz said all of that would show up on computer or projection. That's why I thought of creating 2 versions. One for TV with "the housekeeping and trash" around the edges thaby ERIC B - Café LA Re: Title safe - 17 years agoThen if I'm doing multiple screen editing with two boxes side by side, is it okay to have those within action safe rather than not to the edge of the frame. I was doing both boxes at 50%, side by side, but on my TV, they didn't look symetrical. I changed them to 45%, which brings them both within action safe, and they look better. So if this is projected on screen at festivals for instance, the bby ERIC B - Café LA Re: Title safe - 17 years agoWhat I'm trying to do is get the best possible shot composition. So let's say the image in the canvas is too far to the left. I drag the entire image over to the right, so the left edge of my frame is just to the left of the left outer box of title safe. Should I drag it a little less than the outer box to protect myself?by ERIC B - Café LA Title safe - 17 years agoIs the outer box on title safe the absolute cut off on every mode of broadcast?by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Audio Mystery - 17 years ago"It's more likely that when you had a bunch of clips selected" I don't know how to select a bunch of clips. That's why I'm so confused. "An Audio Mixdown wouldn't mess with your levels" Is there still a way to unmix?by ERIC B - Café LA Re: Audio Mystery - 17 years agoActually, I just remembered that I did a mixdown a week ago. How do I "unmix"?by ERIC B - Café LA Audio Mystery - 17 years agoWorking in latest FCP. I don't know how this happened, but a lot of my audio has been taken down -5 db and panned -1 I noticed this in a few clips when I went to change the audio levels by double clicking on the clip and changing the db. However, I started to notice that hundreds of clips had already been changed to -5 db. How could this happen? And how can I fix it without going into eby ERIC B - Café LA Out Of Memory - 17 years agoI've never seen this message before. It says to free up memory and window will redraw. Where do I free up memory? I have plenty (15-30) gigs available on all 4 drives. I just don't know what to do. Thanks, Ericby ERIC B - Café LA |
