Re: Frame Rate Help! - 12 years agoIf it was shot correctly he wouldn't have a problem, so it's not going to be perfect but it won't be so bad.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Frame Rate Help! - 12 years agoI would just convert the 24 and 30 to 60i with pulldown and edit on a 60i TL.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoThat's what I'm saying. I even created a self contained clip and put it on the TL and it still crashed. Last week I did a clean install of the OS and FCS. I don't know what else to try and I am afraid to freeze the computer again trying to use and old pro app. Would installing Lion help?by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoI agree, but for simple, non compositing, plain cuts? Something is got to wrong here. Ever since that Apple pro apps upgrade FC has been crashing. I tried going back to a previous version, but I locked the computer and had to go the Apple Store Genius to get it going again. Most of my work is 30 secs. so it never bother me before.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoI'm stock with FC7 and a MAC "Pro" 8 core Zeon Westmere with 14 GB RAM a 27" Apple LED monitor and a RAID that runs at 300 MB that can't handle simple editing. I have to finish this feature with what I started with, so What can I do to finish it on time for TRIBECA January 4th 2012? I have finished picture lock, I'm just coloring. What do FC full time editors do?by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agostrypes Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > Have you collapsed the multiclips before applying > the color correction filter? Thanks Strypes There are no multiclips. There is only 6 tracks of video and 6 of sound, but there is no compositing.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoNick Meyers Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > what sort of media? > how large are your projects? > how full are your drives? > > "Add a whole bunch of Red Giant Looks II filters" > > what, on one clip? > > > nick Thanks Nick, Any media, HDV, Sony SxS 420 (from the F3) ProRes HQ. 50 MB It don't matter. Mby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoThanks for the response Nick. What makes it happen more ofter is when I view to external monitor (Decklink Extreme HD original). Add a whole bunch of Red Giant Looks II filters and it is really hard to get anything done.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Contant crashes FC7 - 12 years agoI have done the usual trashing the preferences, but I can't get the permissions repaired. I have done searches on the net and found others having the same problem, but no solutions. I am color enhancing a movie I did in October and I need to have it ready for Tribeca Film Festival by January 4th, so I'll take any advise you can give. What exactly are afraid of?by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Green blocks appears after rendering Motion file in FCP timeline - 12 years agoI had the same problem with my old G5. After years of use it started doing it. I had also install Looks, but couldn't use it at all, so when I called Red Giant the asked about the video card. They suggested to used one monitor instead of the 2 that I was used to using. That worked for Looks and the green blocks on Motion projects. Do you have an old video card in you Mac?by Douglas Villalba - Motion Re: Playback to monitor from Black Magic card - 12 years agoThat is the correct play back setting. You can only display actual 1440X1080 on the computer display, but Why would you want to?by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: ProKit 7.0 - Danger Will Robinson ... - 12 years agoI have a BM HD Extreme, the first version. That may be the problem.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: ProKit 7.0 - 12 years ago7.0 didn't change anything for me either. I keep on crashing constantly as it did before. After my first daily crash I remember to save that is all. Thank G od that at least with a Mac, re start is really fast. I'm going to hold off for a while. Clay I ran the the Motion project on the link you supplied and runs easily on my computer even tho I have an slower vcard. The project that held my computer to an stand still is a lot more complicated than than. I am going to try un installing Quick Looks and perhaps even download directly from Red Giant instead of re installing froby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Additional Video Card - 13 years agoBefore the economy went bad I would have bought it without even asking first here. Now I am a little more careful with investing on tools of the trade. It took me about 10 hour to add 9 titles and 4 clips to a Motion Template that I bought to save time editing it my self. If an $800 video card is going to save me a week or more of editing during the life of the computer, Is it worth the investby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Additional Video Card - 13 years agoHello SHane, That was the card that comes with my Mac. I wanted to buy it with 2 of them in but my Apple store didn't have it in stock when I bough it back in November. For some reason when I installed Quick Looks in my old G5 I was having problems with the 256 card that it had, so instead of upgrading the card I bought the latest 8 core. The 8 core was working fine with QLooks until recentby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Additional Video Card - 13 years agoI need to buy an extra video card. I have some problems with Red Giant Quick Looks and Motion runs very slow when I run a complex animation. ( See it here ) Should I get it now or wait for FCX? If now, What are my choices? Another ATI Radeon HD 5770 or what? I have been using it for years and it is fast transcoding and the image is good. It also gives you different options as far as image size and bits/sec.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: How long should a half-hr show be for broadcast? - 13 years agoIf you are talking about a half hour show for an infomercial then it could be anywhere from 27 to 28:30 Again you have to check with your network rep.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: HDV Capture and drop frames. - 13 years agoI use an HV20 to capture HDV from Sonys and Canon HDV tapes. I never have any problems capturing the Sony tapes but I always have problems with Canons (XH A1). It most be the way Canon cameras write to tape specially at 24f.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Converting frm DVCPROHD to SD for DVD burning - 13 years agoAre viewing your DVD on an SD CRT? It would never look good on a higher resolution flat screen or on HD CRT for that matter.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: How do I transfer plug-ins from my old G5 - 13 years agoI am not that mush into effects so what little plug ins I used are just that without installer. I just had to re install dvmatte pro. That I use a lot. I tell you the things you do when you have no idea how mush better are new 8 core. Now I am able to use dvmatte on Motion on the fly. No more waiting to see results of any changes.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: Strange Chroma Key Issue - See video link. . . . - 13 years agoI had similar problem with my G5 and it ended up being my graphic card after I installed Magic Bullet Quick Looks. I had to disconnect my second monitor that I had since the G5 Quad came out in1995. What have you change or added lately?by Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: How do I transfer plug-ins from my old G5 - 13 years agoThank you all for your answer. I was able to copy most of plug ins and the other had to be installed as you guys had said.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA How do I transfer plug-ins from my old G5 - 13 years agoI just got a new Mac Pro 8 core and I want to use my old plug-ins. Is there an easy copy paste way? Thanksby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Time to Upgrade my G5 Quad??? - 13 years agoIt is time to upgrade my G5 Quad. Not because it was too slow for my work, but because it's giving signs that it won't last too mush longer. It is been a great asset and I want my next one to do as good. I had to take one of my two monitor off because the graphic card 256 MBs can no longer render motion imported simple titles mush less MB looks. I always like to buy the best machine for what Iby Douglas Villalba - Café LA Re: New Broadcast work around - 13 years agoThe undeniable fact is that we have no control over what TV sets people have and that most 16:9 TVs are set to stretch. No one likes to buy a 55" and only see 45". The only ones that do set them for actual size are people in the TV industry. The way I set up my final cut is SD Anamorphic (Down converted from HD). As you know that is a full 720X486 and the player converts it to 16:9.by Douglas Villalba - Café LA |
