I only have my old version of FCS 6 to install. The error window reads, ""You can't open the application FinalCutStudio.mpkg because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." FCS 6 ran just fine on my Intel 24" iMac circa 2007. Why can't I install? Could it be that 10.7 is theby okcpicker - Café LA Re: Firewire 800 - 13 years agoThanks, ya'll Will saddle up Buster, ride into town and buy me one. Mark OKCby okcpicker - Café LA Firewire 800 - 13 years agoYou fine LA people must have an answer to this: I have relocated my ProMax external drive to another room to eliminate fan noise. I discovered dropped frames and marginal capturing ability at this distance with a 30 foot FW 800 cable. Do firewire 800 boosters work well with video? I generally stay away from hubs, etc so as not to invite any throughput issues. Thanks, wonderful SoCal Peopleby okcpicker - Café LA Using External drives with SP - 13 years agoThis isn't a software question, just a hardware concern. I've isolated my external drive in another room so that I can use SP for voice over recording. The drive fan is a bit noisey. I'm using a 30 foot, 9 pin firewire cable to hook up my Promax e xternal media drive. At times, my intel iMac does not recognize the drive. Sometimes it does, so it is not the cable. I hook up a shorter cable witby okcpicker - Soundtrack Pro Advice on a new mixer - 13 years agoI've been using STP with an Alesis USB 8 mixer. The Alesis has issues with OS 10.4. cannot monitor playback without problems. I need to bump up to a better mixer in the $1500 - 2,000 range. Anyone have a recommendation on a higher end mixer with USB or firewire that works flawlessly with OS 10.4? I just need at least 16 inputs - will use it for FCP editing/STP, voice-over recording, podcastinby okcpicker - Soundtrack Pro Using IPhone for recording - 13 years agoI'm producing a podcast using Soundtrack. We have reporters who wish to file stories using recordings made on their iPhones. Quality is good but we are looking for a decent mics to use with the iPhones. Plosives and over modulation are the problems we have with the stock plug-in cheapos. Any pro mic alternative for the iPhone? STP rocks! Unbelievable.by okcpicker - Soundtrack Pro Arming tracks produces noise - 14 years agoI've been watching the Lynda tutorials and really digging into STP. However, whenever I arm a track in preparation for recording, I detect a very high pitch, background whine which will not go away. I'm monitoring through an Alesis usb mixer which I use for my record mics. All my preferences have USB recording and monitoring enabled. I'd like to stick with STP but the app is introducing noiseby okcpicker - Soundtrack Pro |
