***1. NEXT LACPUG MEETING

lacpug Meets are once again sponsored by Blackmagic Design
for all of 2016 and we are grateful.

The next lacpug Meet will be Wednesday, August 24.

It will be “Show and Tell Night.”

There is no better way to learn then to do it yourself, or watch what others have
done.

Join us as we welcome YOU to show us your short movie, clip, scene, trailer, music
video, animation or anything you want to show. We got a brand new projector and
a 25ft screen so let's show it off while showing you off.

I cannot accept anymore submissions to this months Show and Tell Night. So
very sorry.

I will be going through the submissions today and will email those of you I pick.
Remember, I am not choosing on how good I may think they are, but how diverse
we can make the evening. If you do not hear from me, it's because you were not
chosen, NOT because your submission was not good enough.

Oh yeah, Stump the Gurus and World Famous Raffle too.

Plus air conditioning. Woot!

Lots of seats still left but register.

http://www.lafcpug.org/user_schedule.html

NOTE: lacpug generally meets every 4th Wednesday of the Month.
Meetings are open to public and ALL, beginning through advanced Digital
Story Tellers are welcome.

Digital projection made possible through the generous sponsorship of Adobe
Systems, DVCreators, DigitalFilm Tree, OWC, VES and members like you.

lacpug meetings are presented in association with the Barnsdall Gallery
Theater, a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Cultural Affairs.

***3. ARTICLES AND THINGS YOU NEED TO READ AND DO

Watch: “Digital Vista Vision: The Next Era of Digital Imagery” Another FREE
webinar with me and Michael Cioni. Tuesday, Aug 16 at 11:30AM PT

“A decade ago nearly ever digital camera was based upon 2/3 CCD imagers,
the digital equivalent of super 16mm. Eventually super 35mm CMOS imagers
took over and every filmmaker had access to the 35mm look. The next iteration
of image quality is digital vista vision and Panavision recently announced the latest
and greatest in digital cinema technology with the Millennium Digital XL.”

Step into the Future.

Now that LACPUG, DMALA and the Gallery Theatre have a new projector, we are
selling the old Sanyo PLC-XF35NL projector. Cost is only $1200 OBO. I have just had
it checked out by Tek Media Group in Burbank and it is in good working condition.

This projector is perfect for large conference rooms and/or churches and more large
spaces. It’s only been used a few times a month for 12 years at the Gallery Theatre
in Hollywood. I prefer local pick up only.

More information on this projector can be found here:
