***4. AMSTERDAM SUPERMEET WRAP-UP
_______________________________________________________________
Well, the NINTH Annual Amsterdam SuperMeet, held at the Hotel Krasnapolsky on Sept 11, 2016 is now in the history books. About 400 people showed up and, as it always is, was great fun. Thanks Amsterdam! We had a blast!

Blackmagic Design presented filmmaker Klaus B. Pedersen and he gave us an exclusive preview of his documentary short featuring Katalin Konya, the three-time world amateur champion in kickboxing. Klaus used and showed footage from the URSA Mini in his Doc. Klaus was joined by DaVinci Resolve specialist, Simon Hall.

Freelance film editor Adam Garstone showed us the amazing fayIN, a motion tracking and compositing plug-in from Fayteq that is simple enough to be used in the edit, but powerful enough for finished graphics. It was “wow.”

Adobe’s Bronwyn Lewis joined the SuperMeet stage for the very first time and wowed the crowd as well as delighted with new features in Adobe Premiere Pro, AE and other apps in CC. She was help out by Karl Soule. You can actually watch a Facebook Live stream of here presentation here:

In a special presentation, Sam Mestman and Ronny Courtens demoed the wicked fast and powerful ShareStation from LumaForge.

HP presented filmmakers Milica Zec and Winslow Turner Porter III who took us behind the scenes of their VR/360 film, GIANT. Inspired by real events, this immersive virtual-reality experience, which mixes both game engine and live-action video, transports the viewer into the family's makeshift basement shelter. Terrific presentation. They were joined by HP’s Rick Champagne.

The second half of the show was devoted to freelance editor Duncan Shepherd who took us behind the scenes of “Pure McCartney VR,” a series of VR documentary shorts from Jaunt VR, starring Paul McCartney and directed by Tony Kaye.

Rounding out the evening was the crazy World Famous Raffle where we gave away over €71,000.00 worth of valuable prizes to dozens of lucky winners. There is no crazier raffle than the one at the Amsterdam SuperMeet and this year was an Amsterdam record.

There are lots of people to thank, especially our sponsors. They were the ones who paid for this event and we are very grateful to them. We hope you are too and will support them as they support us.

http://www.supermeet.com/ Also, special thanks must also go to the following people who worked tirelessly on behalf of the SuperMeet, and forgive me if I left any of you out. We could not of done this event without you:
Chris Eschweiler, Katie Berube, Rick Young, Ben King, Pauline Fernandes, Rick Macomber, Guy Molin, Job ter Burg, Gert Kracht and the students from the SAE institute in Amsterdam. You were all magnificent.

SuperMeets are so much more than what is on stage. More importantly they are a gatherings of like minded and creative people who make movies on the Mac. As producers of these events we get a front row center seat and a chance to hang out and learn from all of you. That alone is why we do these. And Amsterdam, you could not have been a better host. Thanks for supporting this event. We can’t wait to do it again in 2017.
