Clean up interlace lines

1. I'm editing with FCP 4.5 when I view my footage I see that anything that has motion tends to have an interlaced effect to it. how do I get rid of it or is that a DV thing.

2. I hear that interlaced lines and aliasing isn't as bad when you go to HD. is this true or can I go back to bed.

Most of the HD formats aren't interlaced and have no lines.

Did you see this problem on a sample DVD on a home TV, or on the Canvas View? The Canvas is notorius for lying to you because of the tricks it has to play to work at all. Not to be trusted, but yes, if you don't mind a little sharpness loss, and possibly a few motion oddities, deinterlace the show will get rid of that.

How do you deinterlace something that was shot on 525 lines and interlaced 60i?
2. The canvas is not the problem. It shows up on anything I play it on wheather it's an quick-time mov. or dvd played on a tv or video monitor.

Yeah, I need to de-interlace too. How do you do that?
