prores 422 in AEPosted by ig88
hey everyone. have a question about using prores 422 in AE. we didn't know the answer on the AE list, so hoping someone here does.
we are looking for some help in changing the pref file for AE to allow writing to prores in 10 bit. you only get the option for 8 bit in the pop ups, and would like to use it for DI's. thanks.
yeah, it can be done in the pref file, we are trying to find the right bits to use. below is the code from the pref file, we used to have to edit this to get another codec to work in 10 bit, so we know it can be done.
["QuickTime 64-bit Input Codecs"] "DV10" = "1" "Mczm" = "1" "NO16" = "1" ["QuickTime 64-bit Output Codecs"] "DV10" = "1" "Mczm" = "1" "NO16" = "1" "apcn" = "0" "dvc " = "0" "dvcp" = "0" "jpeg" = "0" "mjp2" = "0" "rle " = "0" you add the "xxxx" = "1" and it works, but don't know what the xxxx will be for the codec.
This might help you identify the codec

But here for the records: In AE import any mov (or footage). Press Option and click the footage in the browser. The type and codec are displayed right from the preview. It's somewhere in the AE manual since version 2. But who needs manuals. Andreas
