I can ask. I'm an Elgato User. However, since all their products are genetically devoted to getting you very far away from MPEG2 as quickly as possible, I doubt it.

I just saw one in the wild. My friend hadn't done much testing but it did appear to speed up encoding quite a bit; unfortunately it's only for H.264 material, with presets for the AppleTV and iPod. Would be nice if they made an MPEG-2 stick, definitely...
