If anyone knows the best way to get rid of this problem. Flicker in the scrolling text I greatly appreciate it

create your text in Illustrator(w/ transparent BG)....

bring your AI file into AE....place a black solid in the BG with a 1-2 percent of noise.

keyframe your text with the position...add motion blur and reduce flicker blur.

Now your good to go...

pretty simple.

If at first you don't succeed, keep ****ing it up 'till it works!

There are many potential causes.

- Using too small a font. Only solution to this is to make the text bigger.
- Your white is too bright.
- Your motion keyframes fall on fractions, or you're making the clip travel too fast.
- The source graphic you're using is too small (blown up too much) or too large (for the timeline to properly handle).
- Try Video Filters - De-Interlace - Flicker.

On the Final Cut Text I slowed it down made the text a little bigger and used a De-interlace and shift fields and it is doing fine now.
Thanks

Have you tried Boris Title Crawl-- one of the two Calligraphy plug-ins? It builds in alot of the wisdom Derekl shared. People are reporting they can't find this product with FCP 6.

I can find it. Found it just yesterday, as a matter of fact!

Yeah it's here in my FCP 6.0. I think that there is some problem somewhere where it's not being automatically installed in some copies. Should be there on the install disks, though.
