drivin me crazy - why does it import at 23.98?!?

FCPS2, macpro dual 2.66ghz dual core intel machine

i made a master of a 8 minute program and saved it as a self contained quicktime. original settings, and settings of the master, are 720p 23.98 fps, dvcprohd.

need to lay it to a minidv tape, so i ran the master quicktime through compressor and output a 720x480 DV 29.97 version.

However, when i import it (apple+i) into FCP, it reads it as 23.98, and the audio synch is all off. When i watch it in QT, it plays fine and reports the framerate to be 29.97. I tried saving a new copy through QT, compressing new version, all to no avail.

Any ideas?

Why not lay out to Mini-DV directly from the timeline?

Otherwise you may split audio and video and only process the video in Compressor.
