FCP 5.1.4
OS 10.4.8
macpro
QT 7.1.3

I have edited shows in DVCPROHD 720P 23.98
and am upconverting them via a kona 3 card to 1080

and now would like to broadcast them.
I know the kona card cannot convert frequencies, what are some good methods of conforming the shows to 29.97?

Thanks,
Gabe

Doesn't this job cry out for Cinema Tools? This should be a simple conversion with 3:2 pulldown to get to 29.97. I've never had to do this, but that's supposed to be one of CineTool's reason for existing.

This is the beauty of the card and FCP... You just hit play and it ads the pulldown, live, on the fly, to tape or out to a monitor. Effortless. Pure 60i 29.97. No Cinema Tools. Nothing.

I believe the Easy Set-up that includes 23.98 Sequences also make the output settings for 60i 29.97.

I have personally done this with 720p 23.98. multiple times.

Have you been monitoring your edit on an HDTV?

OK...how are YOU going to broadcast them? I don't understand. Doesn't the network you deliver to dictate the format and frame rate you output? I deliver 1080p 23.98 shows to History Channel....but we also provide them with downconverted 29.97 digibetas...all done thru the capture card.

But, if your network wants a 1080 29.97 master, you can give them that, as KOZ says.

What are your requirements?
