Export Custom Filters?
December 27, 2007 01:16PM
Hey, guys/gals... I'm trying to figure out how to export some custom filters (mainly color correction filters) so that another editor can use the same filters on his machine.

Any ideas?

Thanks for the help!

Drag the filters into a bin in the Browser. Save the project file and transport that file (e-mail, FTP, USB flash, portable drive etc.) to the other editor.

An even better solution (since it is nearly independent from FCP versions and presets), here my special one:
Apply the filter (filter set) to a simple text generator, enter a short description into the text entry of the generator. Drag the generator to the browser and export as XML version 1.
Send around as Derek said. Anyone can import the XML and use "copy" and "paste attributes". Filter order is saved - no confusion, though the filter(s) must be available on the target system.

That works. Thanks!

How do guys like Nattress and Eureka create the filters as plugins that need to be installed?
