Question about loading FCP Studio II to Mac Book laptop
March 25, 2008 07:53PM
I was looking at the requirements for FCP and it says it takes either an AGP or PCI-E video card, I was wondering if anyone out there has attempted putting FCP on a Macbook Laptop. I know the Macbook Pros have a separate GPU, but the Mac Books come with integrated GPU's...wondering if anyone out there has tried loading it up on & what their results were. This will determine if I get a Mac Book or Mac Book Pro

I have been running FCP Studio (1) on my MacBook Pro for some time now, and I am planning on upgrading to FC Studio 2. I don't believe there is any problem running this on a MBP. Obviously, the 17" is much better screen resolution for the entire application.

...I think he wants to know about a MB - not a MBP.

I think there are a few folks here running FCS2 on a MB but can't swear it. I don't know how much grafix they do either. I would go with a MBP just for the sheer ballz of it. My 17" MBP 2.6 Core 2 Duo / 4 Gigs of RAM / Hi Rez Widescreen handles all my editing (FCS2), grafix (AE / PS / ILL CS3), 3D apps (Cinema 4D 10.5) & finishing like butter. It also runs a second 30" monitor from the DVI port. With the right peripherals it will probably make my coffee & fix my Jeep as well. Best machine I ever owned.
