FCP 4.5/computer will not open

I use FCP Final Cut Pro 4.5 HD, which I just reinstalled on a new/used computer.
This is a much faster Power Mac G5 PC, 2.3 duo with a Nividia 6600 graphics card.
The installation was smooth and everything works except the main attraction-Final Cut.
A message states I need an AGP graphics card. I went to Apple support and downloaded an upgrade, which was supposed to fix the problem but it's still the same.
I can only add that I'm a teacher and it is an Academic version.

I am hoping someone out there has had a similar experience and an point me in the right direction.

I have no idea. I just learnt that from Tom last week. It's one of the many benefits of hanging around here .

I should actually add it as a FAQ even though its a RAQ, just because it's so lovely and simple, unlike almost everything else we get here lol.

Yeah, I had the same thought when I saw Jude's solution. I certainly wouldn't mind seeing in in the FAQ.
