edit to dv tape issue?

Can i edit timecode accurately to a dv tape using a sony hvr deck deck via firewire
i have set timecode at 09:57:00:00 i usually do this on a digi no problem.
Any Advice

Not with FireWire. Even if the In point is accurate, it will drift and go off. You need a deck with RS-422 (I think it's called EIA-422 now?) interface.
