Interesting note on Project Size bloat in FCP7

Hi, all.
i trust you are all having a warm and cosy time over Thanksgiving.

i'm down here in Aus with an Hawaiian shirt on and the air con set to 16degrees.
nice!

i'm doing some work on an old project (the feature Doc i cut last year).
The project file i'm accessing is 56MB, which i know is larger than it needs to be.
its not too large to work with, so i'm not worried.

in the past one way to reduce the project file size was to copy paste everything into a new project.

now i am opening this v6 project into v7,
and doing a SAVE AS.
and look at that!
the new saved project is 19MB!

i wonder if this is some improvement in FCP7 hadn't heard about yet?
converting the project from 6 to 7 may be a factor.
who knows, maybe the unaccountable project bloats don't happen in FCP7???

but if you DO see an FCP7 project file bloating,
try a save as.

cheers,
nick
