LiveType questionPosted by CaseyPetersen
Here's a question...why is it that if I create a file in LiveType with the same settings as my FCP sequence (HDV1080i60), when I drop the .IPR file on the timeline, it still needs to be rendered (it is orange/UNLIMITED for rendering).
I tried exporting it as a QuickTime, but it still does the same thing...orange. Is there any way to fix it so it doesn't have to render when I drop it on a timeline with identical settings? Just something that's bugged me for awhile.... Thanks! Casey Petersen

>video in LT as well, huh. I don't think you can import a background into LT. Yes, you have to render. No YUV based codec can carry an alpha channel, and if you put whatever text you generated from LT over an image, you have to render. www.strypesinpost.com

if you're exporting using the Animation codec (which is RGB) you should see a popup or something with "Millions of Colors + (Plus)" - which indicates an alpha channel. In additional, you may have a choice between premultiplied (baked in) or straight (separate channel) alpha. - Loren Today's FCP keytip: Set a motion effect keyframe instantly with Control-K!
